About Indian Banking Sector

The Ist Banking in India were Bank of Hindustan formed in the year 1770. The Biggest Bank in India is the State Bank of India – This was one of the 3 banks funded by Presidencies of British India Govt, the other 2 were the Bank of Bombay & the Bank of Madras. Currently, Indian banking sector classified into Scheduled Banks which include Public Sector Banks, Regional Rural Banks; Private Sector Banks and Foreign Banks & Non-Scheduled banks. The Scheduled Banks regulated under the second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.  The Non-Scheduled banks regulated under the Banking Regulation Act, in the year 1949. Currently 27 Public Sector Banks available in India, Its include Nineteen Nationalized banks, 06 are State Bank of India and its associate banks, 02 other public sector Banks (Bharatiya Mahila Bank and IDBI Bank) & 02 banks Newly proposed (India Post Payments Bank). More than twenty Private Sector Banks also available in India.

Eligibility Criteria for Banking Sector Jobs:

Before applying for the banking jobs Applicants need to check the eligibility criteria for the bank jobs. Applicants should be graduate to apply for the banking sector jobs. Each & Every bank has its own eligibility criteria for recruitment. Applicant should be good in mathematics, accounts, financial markets these are the main subjects in which question usually asked in the bank examination. There are much more topics such as English, General knowledge, Aptitude, and certain others.

Selection Procedure

A huge number of applicants apply for banking sector jobs. Banks publish the employment notification every year. Banks publish the application procedure online or offline. Candidates are requested to read the official notification carefully for all the eligible criteria.

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is the Institute which provides the internship to the Applicants who wants to do jobs in banking sector. IBPS also organizes the examination. Applicants who all get good marks in IBPS they all are eligible candidates for applying in the banking sector.

Written examination is also organized by many banks and exam consists of so many topics such as:

§ Mathematics

§ Financial Marketing

§ General Knowledge

Personal Interview for Bank Jobs

Applicants who clear the written examination they all are appointed for the personal interview. In the personal interview, applicants have been selected by asking the different type of questions. Interviewers ask the questions about G.k, Financial marketing, English, Mathematics to know the Applicants knowledge. Applicants who cleared in the personal interview after that they all are provided with Joining letter.

After selection Procedure starting 6 months are for training. In the period of training, officials provide knowledge about how to work and the implementation of strategy, plans. Applicants will be judged according to their performance in the training session.

Applicants will be getting about Rs.12000/- per month as an allowance during training period session. After clearing the training session applicants will be confirmed by the officials. After completing the training session the salary will be increased.
